Functional Home Assessment

Functional Home Assessment – What to Expect
During the assessment, we will walk through your home together and discuss how you use each space, your current concerns, and your goals for the future. Recommendations may include ideas related to layout, accessibility, circulation, storage, lighting, bathroom and kitchen functionality, entryways, stairways, and other design strategies intended to improve the function, comfort, and everyday usability of your home. Recommendations are conceptual and intended to help you prioritize improvements and make informed decisions about future modifications.

Purpose of the Service
A Functional Home Assessment is intended to provide personalized design recommendations that support how you live today while considering your future needs. Recommendations are provided from an interior design and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) perspective, informed by the principles of design and your individual goals.

This service is advisory in nature and does not include construction drawings, specifications, engineering, project management, or medical services. If additional design services are desired following the assessment, a separate proposal outlining scope and fees will be provided for your review.

Use of Recommendations
All recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. Final decisions regarding remodeling, construction, product selection, and implementation remain the responsibility of the client. Any work completed following the assessment is carried out at the client's discretion.

Recommendations are based on observations made during the assessment and the information provided by the client at the time of the visit. While they are intended to improve the functionality, comfort, and accessibility of the home, they should not be interpreted as medical advice or as a guarantee that any modification will prevent injury or eliminate risk.

Every home and homeowner's needs are unique. Existing site conditions, structural limitations, budgets, building codes, and future changes in needs may affect which recommendations are appropriate or feasible.
