Accessible Design
Your home should support your participation in activities that are meaningful to you. It should offer independence, safety and comfort. By incorporating accessible design features, our designs are personalized to you and your specific needs. Lead designer Jill Beuch is experienced in working with people with diverse abilities and she compassionately asks the important questions that lead to an individualized design.
People who may benefit from accessible design include people with limited mobility, nerurodiverse populations, people with low vision, people with neurological conditions, and people in multigenerational homes. The following are examples of spaces that benefit from Accessible Design:
Barrier-free layouts for wheelchair accessibility
Accessible bathrooms and kitchens
Accessory dwelling units for multigenerational living
Study spaces for young adults with learning differences
Sensory rooms for children with sensory differences
When you choose a Design Consultation from our Services, Jill visits your home and consults with you on the existing design of your home. You will receive practical recommendations that you can choose to incorporate immediately, as well as suggestions to consider for your renovation project. If you are seeking design development or full service design, a proposal will be created for you following the consultation.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) outlines requirements for accessibility in public places. Private residences are not subject to the same regulations. While ADA standards offer a starting point for achieving accessibility in your home, many homeowners prefer design solutions that are tailored specifically to you and your needs. When partnering with Cadence Interiors, you will benefit from working with a designer who is not only familiar ADA requirements, but who is also skilled at assessing your individuals needs and preferences.
